FAQ

What are we?

A DIY flea market and cultural gathering which occurs up to six times per year and features a carefully curated collection of more than 40 unique local(ish) vendors. Selling everything from ceramic goodies, vintage clothing & retro games, original artwork, vinyl & cassettes, oddities, taxidermy, artisan jewelry, curiosities, antiques, herbal remedies, & much much more. This event is pet and well behaved child friendly.

What to Expect

We have a $5.00 suggested donation at the door to support future markets. Each market is an mostly indoor experience, with a small amount of porch space, weather permitting. Other goodies to expect include a live set from DJ Lava Lamp, spinning beats at a beautifully moderate volume, take a load off and enjoy vintage movies and cartoons playing on the big screen near the bar, each market includes an ever-changing themed photo booth courtesy of photographer Jess Crugar, and last but certainly not least fabulous cocktails + mocktails from The Cats Cradle bar staff.

Where and what is Cat's Cradle?

Located less than a mile from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill campus in downtown Carrboro, the Cat’s Cradle has been the Triangle’s premier live music venue for over 50 years.

Having hosted bands as diverse as Nirvana, Public Enemy, John Mayer, Joan Baez, and Iggy Pop, the Cat’s Cradle has become a must-stop venue for premier music acts over the past several decades. With a capacity of 750 people, the Cat’s Cradle allows concert-goers a chance to see established and up-and-coming bands alike in an intimate setting.

Where does your $$ go?

We understand that financial constraints can affect everyone. Please be assured that every dollar contributed by our supporters is reinvested directly into the market. Your application and booth fees are dedicated to making The Nine Lives Flea Market an affordable event for all attendees and vendors. The diverse and talented individuals in the Triangle inspire us every day, and we take pride in creating a semi-monthly home for them by keeping application fees low and providing multiple booth sizes for different budgets.  If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at ninelivesfleabags@proton.me
