What are we looking for?

Vintage: We want to see vintage goods that fall under the umbrella of textiles, clothing, shoes, furniture, records, media, collectibles, books, housewares etc. This is the category we fill first with applications.

Original Art: This could be any artisan and creator such as photographers, zine artists, painters, printmakers, sculptures, designers, ceramics and graphic artists, terrariums, plant people, book artists and zine-makers.

Hand-Made Goods: Original knitted items, pattern creators, textile weavers, original hand sewn clothing and items, not limited to; hats, scarves, blankets, socks, clothing, and small original designs such as plush animals. Jewelry artists who hand fabricate at least 70% of their designs. This is the category that is very limited. We receive many applications in this category and are going to be selective as to not oversaturate the market with one specific style of goods.
What are we NOT looking for?
We do not and will not accept those selling MLM products, imported goods such as reselling items purchased through Temu, Shein, Amazon, Sticker Mule or any mass-produced AI goods. We want our consumers to be purchasing items that are second-hand and quality, truly local, original and creative pieces of work. We reserve the right to be selective in choosing applicants who fit our market vision.
What does it cost?
Application Fee: $10.00
This non-refundable processing fee pays the people who take time to review applications, select vendors for the month, create a map (ensuring similar vendors are not next to one another) and send emails to all vendors who applied.
Booth Fees:
3x6 (A space of this size is $35.00)
5x7 (A space of this size is $45.00)
8x8 (A space of this size is $65.00)
Parking: There is convenient FREE town parking in the deck located beside the Hampton Inn Hotel directly to the east of the ArtsCenter/Cat’s Cradle plaza. The entrances for the Cat’s Cradle venues are an easy walk from this deck, straight down the back alleyway behind the ArtsCenter/Cat’s Cradle plaza. You may also park in any other town parking lots in the Carrboro area.
Why was I waitlisted?
Our most common reason why applicants are put on the waitlist is because the chosen vendor category is saturated. If you are selling popular or on trend goods, chances are we have received numerous applications and are having to make the difficult decision between multiple vendors with similar styles/goods.
We are working toward a rotating vendor list. There is a balance between hosting returning vendors who have consistently fresh stock and hosting completely new vendors.

We know it takes a lot of time to apply for markets and we thank you for the time you spent applying to ours. Unfortunately, it might be possible that we are not aligned with your work.
Please take a look at the "What we are NOT looking for" section and see if you fall into this category. This is a reflection of our intention for the Nine Lives Flea Market to create an inclusive space for people to sell vintage, antiques and sustainably-made goods and art.
Important Note
All, every single one, of the applications that we receive, are looked at from top to bottom. We read through your information, view your photos, links and any tid-bits left to then decide on the applicants based on a juried selection. Each market we host is juried separately, so you might be accepted into one market and on the waiting list for another. We are as fair as possible with our vendor rotation.
